Mark Hauser Discusses the Lifestyle of an Actor and Entrepreneur

There is an old concept within the acting world that you must know somebody in order to become somebody. Mark Hauser is a Canadian-American actor who was born in Michigan and raised across the UP. A skilled voice actor with hundreds of credits to his name over the years, Hauser has turned into a font of resources for individuals looking to pursue a career in the voice acting realm.

Already a decorated performer with credits in projects like Alice in Borderland and Winx Club, Mark Hauser had plenty to share with potential followers when he sat down for an interview with Ideamensch.

Life as an Entrepreneur

If you want to find a life of success, you have to start by looking out for one. Hauser advocates for keeping your eyes open wide and ready to take advantage of the possibilities that come to you. Hauser states, “I look for opportunities everywhere. Like any other business owner, I am responsible for marketing my services to potential clients.”

As an entrepreneur and screen actor, Hauser is always looking for ways to connect with potential future clients. Hauser says, “Whether I’m in a business discussion or a social situation, I’m always aware of what’s going on around me.”

In order to enjoy the kind of success Hauser has found within the voice-acting realm, it might be necessary to keep this kind of thought process going at all times.

Hauser adds, “To further my acting career, I also use my industry networks and word-of-mouth to learn about upcoming acting jobs.”

Furthering An Acting Career

While networking is an important aspect of finding success in any given field, it is far from the only technique or available metric. Understanding who you are and what you can do is a huge aspect of success in an arena where authenticity is key. Hauser suggests that creative individuals stick to the work that they feel fits them best.

Hauser recalls a story from his past where he didn’t find the right role, but still landed it. Hauser stated, “I landed the role but was forced to leave the production because the director said I wasn’t authentic or believable. Now I pay attention to that little voice in my head. If it tells me to stay away from a certain role, I listen.”

In addition to maintaining an air of authenticity, Hauser advocates taking care of your physical and mental well-being. From massage therapy to taking quiet time to read or write, self-care is healthcare and ultimately the best guidepost for a healthy life.

Hauser says of his experiences with massage therapy and how they’ve impacted his working life, “While the massage therapist releases your body’s tension, you transport yourself to a place you enjoy. When the session is over, you’re refreshed and ready to take on the world.”
